Game of My Life so far: Dead and Buried

Holy crap! How many of you have played Dead and Buried on the Oculus Rift?

While searching for new games for the Rift, we came across Dead and Buried. The screen shots looked interesting so we decided to give it a shot. My son tried it first and then handed the goggles over to me. I was hooked from the 1st second. I put the googles on and “Holy crap, I have skeleton hands!”

Yes, skeleton hands. Then you’re standing in an eerie room with fog and a pedestal that holds a single, old rusty revolver. Picking it up was a bit awkward at first but you soon learn to use the Oculus Touch controllers. You pick up the rusty old revolver and choose “target practice” where you can shoot stationary and moving targets in order to get a feel for the game.

I quickly moved from target practice to Quick Draw, where you compete with players from around the world in a quick draw shooting competition. Of course I blew total chunks at first, but after a week of playing I am pretty decent.

My favorite game mode is “Shootout” where you can play 1v1 or 2v2. You are placed in an area with lots of places to hide while your opponent tries to shoot your head off. EXHILARATING! I LOVE IT! HE’S SHOOTING AT ME! AAAAAGGGGHHH!

It’s fast paced, stressful and most of all fun! If you asked me as a child what the perfect video game would be I would likely have described something similar to Dead and Buried. Additional gameplay options include Train Robbery, Horde (a bit like zombies)

In my opinion, Dead and Buried is worth the price of the Oculus Rift.
